Steve and Lisa Freeman have been cooking nearly all their lives. Steve was born in Scotland and moved to the US as a two year old. He worked years both in fast food and fine dining throughout high school and College. Steve started smoking barbeque when our next door neighbor outside of Austin, Terry offered the smoker her dad made from an old water heater for him to use at (what turned out to be) our 1st Annual Freeman BBQ back in 1998. Steve never turned back and uses his ‘scientific methods’ 😉 to create slow smoked yumminess. After moving to Edmonds in 2000, Steve fell in love with the flavors of the Pacific Northwest apple and oak wood, as well as the local all-natural meats made his BBQ taste.
Lisa grew up at Baker’s Big Burger in Cape Girardeau, MO, just 1/2 mile from the mighty Mississippi river. Down-home, Southern cooking is her specialty. Lisa uses the freshest ingredients available to deliver such staples as her Mom’s potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans with molasses and chocolate sin cake…but with a little of Lisa’s love to make them her own! No professional training here other than generations of self-taught, hearty eating cooks.
